Now, take a painless blood sugar test

Hong Kong scientists have invented a device to help diabetics measure their blood sugar painlessly for the first time — without pricking their fingers.

The instrument, which is the size of a mobile phone, emits a weaker form of infrared, or near-infrared, which penetrates the skin on the finger and homes in on the bloodstream. Out of the many components in the blood, the beam is able to identify bits of glucose through the frequency or wavelengths they transmit and the amount of blood sugar present would be displayed in 10 seconds.

This research was done at Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Nursing. Its professor and associate head of research Joanne Chung said, "There are different types of cells in the blood vessels — red blood cells, white blood cells, other compounds, protein, glucose, cholesterol but our model selects those for glucose and tells you its levels."

A team of 28 experts — nurses, doctors, engineers, computer experts as well as a mathematician from Australia — toiled for four years and came up with a device which is at least 85 per cent accurate after five clinical trials.
And I think is instrument will become more popular in coming days. But being it emitted some kind of infrared rays into the body, it may cause some sideeffects. Whats your Opinion Guys!!!

Next-Generation's Gaming : Xbox

Software Giant, Microsoft introduces the best next-generation internet based gaming and entertinement system. Xbox, yes they named it as Xbox 360.

Just choose a nickname of your own, so you will be known to other people in any games you play. You can maintain your own friends list either your real life friends or new people you meet online with whom you like to play.

Xbox 360 Console is equipped with a 20GB hard drive, wireless controller and wireless headsets. Xbox 360 fully engages you in a gaming experience that is more expansive, dramatic, and lifelike, where the possibilities are limitless and your imagination has no boundaries. Now Xbox 360 is available in three different format, such as Xbox 360, Xbox 360 Core and Xbox 360 Elite.

Xbox Live is its online service for gaming and content distribution for the Xbox 360 videogame systems. Xbox Live allows you to play games against other people online as well as download demos, trailers, and even full games in the Xbox Live Arcade.

To use Xbox Live you should have an Xbox 360 as well as a broadband internet service provider. Xbox Live is a subscription-based service that you can be purchased for 1 month, 3 months, and 1 year periods. Subscription cards are available at retail stores or you can use your credit card on the Xbox 360 itself to sign up for Xbox Live.

There are two level of subscriptions such as Silver and Gold. In Silver Level, which is free of cost, enables you to create your own game profile, chat with friends, and lets you download things from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Gold Level is a paid service and gives you all of the Silver Level benefits along with the ability to play games online. You can Chat with more than one person at a time. You can play games with unlimited Xbox gamers.

Some Advantages of Xbox 360

The graphics are incredibly realistic, particularly when viewed through a high definition TV. Playing a realistic and unique game like Gears of War in high definition can be completely exhausting. The sheer force of the superbly real graphics and intense gameplay puts a serious strain on you emotionally and physically, as you frantically try to dodge incoming machinegun fire or storm enemy fortifications. The Xbox 360 is capable of playing both Xbox 360 and some regular Xbox games, giving it a rather large library for a rather new system. The gameplay is fun and great for experienced gamers, particularly because of the revamped online multiplayer systems that allow you to take games to the next level of competition beyond your friends sitting on the couch next to you.

On the disadvantages of the Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is too complicated for inexperienced gamers to pick up and enjoy immediately and is also very expensive. There are lot of complaints Xbox consoles.

The main objective of this article is not to learn you about the Xbox features, on the other hand, I need more reviews about these Xbox Gamers. Post your comments.
